A so-called 'hate preacher' reportedly tried to disrupt this year's Wolverhampton Identity festival event with a 'homophobic rant'. Wolverhampton's festival celebrating the LGBTQ+ community returned today at noon.
The event, boasting a parade along with a number of acts and guests, was held at Old Market Square. But as the celebrations got underway, a 'Christian hate preacher' allegedly attempted to cause trouble with crowds.
Wolverhampton councillor Chris Burden fumed it was "out of order" as he praised a community of Christians who rallied around to stand up to him. The cabinet member for education took to Twitter to voice his frustrations over the incident.
