Does it Make Perception to Boycott Gay-Bashing Barilla Pasta?
Guido Barilla is chairman of Barilla pasta. You can find his namesake pasta at Oak Park places like Jewel. Signore Barilla has been making some rather inflammatory comments about his product and gay people:
&#;I would never do an advert with a homosexual family.&#;
&#;&#;I hold no respect for adoption by gay families.&#;
&#;If gays don&#;t like it, they can eat another brand.&#;
But does it make perception to boycott the corporation this guy owns and which provides half the world&#;s pasta and one-quarter of the pasta in the United States?
If you&#;re trying to hurt this company, then buying some other brand of pasta is a preposterous move for vengeance. Every grocery in Oak Park-River Forest could take Barilla off its shelves with virtually no measurable impact on the company&#;s bottom line.
But that&#;s not why I&#;m not buying Barilla pasta, which I have bought in the past and which is not, from a culinary perspective, poor pasta. In fact, I like it just fine.
I just don&#;t want to have anything to carry out with a company whose primary spokesperson seems so unpleasant.

Disgraced ex-Congressmember Aaron Schock took a smash from visiting gay bars on the DL and finally came clean about his sexual orientation in an Instagram post on March 5.
“I am gay,” the year-old longtime homophobe wrote in the post. “For those who know me and for many who only comprehend of me, this will come as no surprise.”
No surprise indeed.
The Illinois Republican’s announcement followed years of suspicion about his sexual orientation — including video of him making out with a guy at Coachella and photos of him enjoying himself at a Mexico City gay bar that surfaced last year.
He claims he is coming out now because he has concluded a years-long legal battle stemming from his indictment on 24 charges that included misusing federal taxpayer dollars, wire fraud, mail fraud, and filing false tax returns. The charges were later dropped.
