Welcome To The GSA Conference

Each Fall, youth and adults from across the articulate are invited to the GSA Conference to attach, build solidarity, and hold their collective leadership to the next level! Grab your GSA to the next level, learn strategies for sharing power through deep listening and society care, and make actionable plans for work in GSAs, communities, and beyond!

Something For Everybody

This event provides a space for elder advisors and student leaders to strategize in an intentional - and obvs fun - way to ensure the coming academy year is a smashing success. The annual GSA Conference offers lots of ways to connect, expertise up and engage, such as:

  • Advisor track: Space for GSA advisors to create their skills and attach with a statewide peer support system. Get the resources and support you need to level up your GSA!

  • Workshops for youth: Learn from community partners, outright staff, and youth organizers how you can organize effectively, build solidarity, and strengthen your leaders, your GSA, and your whole community!

  • Regional Lunch: Connect and build solidarity with queer and allied youth at different schools in your reg

    Running a club can be a lot of work.  You have to build a plan for each meeting, organize events, advertise and recruit new members, and make sure that the club is gathering the needs of the people who join.  So it’s frustrating when, on top of all of your hard work, things don’t go smoothly and challenges arise.  At a recent GSA conference, we asked students to produce a list of usual GSA challenges and then work collectively to brainstorm possible solutions to each of those challenges.  Here is what they created:

    Resistance to the club (from administration):

    • There are still a lot of misconceptions about GSAs. Before proposing a GSA to administrators, create sure you are proficient to explain the purpose of the club.  Be ready with a mission statement, example discussion topics, and talk about how you think a GSA will benefit the climate of the school for all students.  Read GSAFE’s sample GSA mission statements here.
