Market Days is a staple on the annual circuit calendar as it draws attendees from not only around the United States but also many international visitors. The Market Days street festival occurs in the Boystown gayborhood just north of downtown Chicago on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. During the evening there are gay clothing, toy and accessory vendors that line the road along with various sustenance options and entertainment stages offering drag shows and DJ performances. The Hydrate Nightclub stage is a popular spot to stop by in the late afternoon into early evening as they always have a great DJ lineup that acts as a mini tea dance to receive the night started. There are many male lover bars that dot along Halsted Street in Boystown that open in the afternoon and continue with parties into the evening. Hydrate Nightclub is always a popular spot among the circuit crowd. There is also a homosexual beach nearby (Kathy Osterman Beach) that is a great spot to hold out with friends in the afternoon and always draws a big crowd that weekend.

Northalsted Market Days® is a weekend extended, live music street festival celebrating community in Chicago’s landmark Northalsted/Lakeview neighborhood.
The 1/2 mile long summer festival features all-day lineups of live music on 5 stages, 250+ vendors, meal and drink, dance exhibitions, drag performance, and more!
Founded in 1982, Northalsted Market Days® is a celebration that now spans from Belmont to Addison on North Halsted St. in Chicago’s Northalsted neighborhood – America’s first recognized queer village and a Chicago LGBTQ+ historic landmark.
Northalsted Market Days is easily accessed via the CTA Red Line Addison station at Wrigley Field, CTA Red/Brown/Purple Lines at Belmont, multiple bus lines, and rideshare car/cab services to hotels and other lodging.

Event Highlights of August 9-10 Northalsted Market Days
Chicago, IL - Northalsted Market Days, the Midwest's largest gay and lesbian outdoor street festival--and arguably the most diverse in terms of people-watching and musical acts—will be held Saturday and Sunday, August 9-10, on Halsted Street between Belmont and Addison in Chicago's Lakeview neighborhood.
Sponsored by the Northalsted Area Merchants Association, Market Days—this year celebrating its 22nd year—will feature nearly 400 arts/craft/food vendors and more than 40 business acts on three stages. Hours are 11:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m. each day. Suggested gate donation is $5.
