Here's our gay guide to Boracay including where to stay, eat, party and what to do on this magical island in the Philippines.

“Stefan, let's move to Boracay and grow beautiful mermaids!”

The thing is, Seby wasn't joking when he said this to me as we were planning our Philippines trip. He showed me the Boracay Mermaids Instagram profile and exclaimed proudly – “this is going to be us!”

And sure enough it was!

Along with our mermaid adventures along Boracay's gorgeous White Beach (more about this below!), this tropical Filipino island offers so much for LGBTQ travellers. It has an exciting (albeit small) gay scene to inspect out with many terrific gay friendly hotels, secluded beaches and highly rated restaurants.

Boracay used to be infamous for being a crazy party island where anything goes! However, things got so raucous and out-of-hand that the government decided to close it for a big 6 month clean up in Post-clean up, Boracay is as buzzing as it was before, but a lot cleaner, with stricter rules in place to adhere to in command to keep it clean.

Following our visit to Boracay, we've put together this detailed gay guide sum

Gay guide to Manila setting out practical safety tips, highlights of the city's gay scene, top places to stay, where to eat, and more!

“Be super careful in Manila boys…” was the blunt warning from our Filipino friends in London before we headed over, “…it's crowded, polluted, too much traffic and lots of thieves everywhere!”

But in all truthfulness, Manila is no other from any other enormous city we've been in.

Our first steps on the streets of Malate were tentative – taking our friends' words to heart, we ensured to go all valuables in our hotel, avoided unlit streets, and stuck to taxis to get us around. But the paranoia that we'd built up was quickly broken down. Sticking to basic common feeling, it's fine in Manila.

We ended up enjoying the Filipino capital. It has a pretty exciting homosexual scene with a super friendly LGBTQ community that loves connecting with foreigners. Filipinos are generally the most hospitable people we've ever met, which makes it so easy to make local friends here quickly. This was our favorite thing about Manila!

As the hub of the Philippines, Manila makes for a attractive sweet base to begin explo

There really ain't much to say about the place, good food, cold drinks, and chill atmosphere. Place is nice, cool, and bright, definitely the place you'd want to chill in when you're exhausted after work or just want to have a few drinks. Been drinking here for the past 7 years, never had any problems or any bad experiences. They've got your usual selection of beer staples with san miguel products plus a few craft beers from Pinatubo and Boondocks. They also have cocktails that can be served either in a glass or a pitcher na hindi tinipid, you can even watch them actually create it right at the bar. Food is definitely better than most other typical places you'd guzzle in. Common drinking pulutan like fries and onion rings are better than you'd expect but if you're gonna eat might as well just move and eat dinner too cause all of the things in their menu are definitely a must try especially if you get there on the right day when they have either baboy damo or usa. You'd wish to check their social media accounts too result in they frequently have some sort of event or meets happening all the time in collaboration with different groups or The Hub just nex near gay bar

Like most Italian cities, the Rome gay scene is petite; particularly since there are not many queer bars in Rome. When I first came here in , there were just the two staple bars on the homosexual street next to the Colosseum: Coming Out and My Bar.

But in recent years, the gay Rome bars have started to take off in popularity, and they are not all centered around the Colosseum (although close enough to the city center).

On top of it, unlike in other European countries, Rome's gay bars often double as trattorias or place to get an aperitivo, but that is quintessential Italians for you, who are serious about combining alcohol intake with long, leisurely dinners 🤌.

The best advice is to come early for dinner or aperitivo and go late to head to some of Rome's same-sex attracted clubs or gay parties.

So let's explore the unending city's best gay bars!

As this article focuses mainly on Rome gay bars, check out our Lgbtq+ Guide to Rome, conclude with other clubs and parites you should proceed in the Eternal City.
